Pierre Jeanneret Tokyo

ARMLESS EASY CHAIR

¥495,000

Designed for private residences during the construction of Chandigarh in the mid-1960s. Jeanneret's iconic V-shaped legs, also known as compass legs, exude a stoic beauty, and the gentle slope of the backrest adds comfort to the everyday act of simply sitting.

It was used in many buildings around the city, including the Yacht Club Lounge, Punjab University and government buildings. I can imagine many residents and students sitting on these chairs in various spaces in the newly reborn city of Chandigarh.
