Pierre Jeanneret Tokyo

BED SIDE CUP BOARD

¥594,000

A small cupboard with Jeanneret's iconic V-shaped legs. Designed for apartments and hostels for members of the Legislative Assembly, circa 1955-56.

The name ``bedside cupboard'' suggests that the drawer is used to store something important, such as a book you have just finished reading, and a small lamp at the top for your bedtime drink. I imagine it was placed there.

There are no protruding drawer handles, and instead there are pigeonholes, giving it a beautiful, stripped-down appearance typical of Jeanneret.
